John Leslie Breck was an American artist who was influenced by the French Impressionist painters. In Garden at Giverny (1890), he paints the garden and part of the Giverny home of Claude Monet, using the thick brushstrokes and splashes of color typical of Monet. The red and white flowers blend nicely with the shaded walkway and light brown house, creating a serene feeling of summer.
