Karsten Kirchner paints an Italian paradise in Monte Oliveto, in southern Tuscany, just south of Siena. Here the Tuscan sun shines in its own special way - past cypress trees, fields, tile-roofed farmhouses and mountains. The Monte Oliveto area is known for the Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore (the Abbey in the Clouds), where a peaceful group of Benedictine monks live.
