Georgia O'Keeffe created a dynamic synthesis she called "memory" or "the dream thing," born of her visions. It must have been quite a vision, because this painting of the tropical herb canna is a burst of reds, yellows, orange and lavender all sliding together. O'Keeffe's work is often considered sensual, and rightly so - it is hard to imagine a more sensual image.
