CEMENT BOARD APPLICATION Cementitious board such as Hardi, Durock and others has properties that make it difficult for the screw head to seat properly and cleanly. The Hardi screw has "reamer nibs" under the head to ease countersinking and leave smooth clean edges. It also has "wings" to allow the screw to drill into the metal without clogging the threads and racking/lifting the material before it penetrates through the metal. Proper depth setting is paramount in this application.
